A fillable PDF lets you type into designated fields while keeping the page layout fixed. A printable PDF can also be used with a pen. Check the product description before starting: the Zidishops organizers and Shift Life Planner include fillable fields, while the original report-sheet bundle is supplied as printable sheets.
The steps below are a practical starting point for a computer. PDF readers and operating systems differ, so menu names may vary. Adobe provides its own instructions for completing PDF forms.
1. Download and extract the files
Save the ZIP from your order to a folder you can find again. Use your computer's extract or unzip option before opening a PDF. Choose the A4 or US Letter edition that matches your intended paper size.
Keep a blank original. Make a working copy with a clear filename, such as Weekly-plan-2026-11-02.pdf. Avoid including private patient information in filenames or entries.
2. Open the PDF in a form-capable reader
Open the downloaded file in a local PDF reader that supports interactive forms. A browser preview may display a form, but saving and appearance can differ between viewers. If clicking a field does nothing, try a form-capable desktop reader and confirm that you opened the fillable product rather than a print-only sheet.
Adobe's form instructions cover entering information in interactive fields. You should not need to redesign the page or purchase a PDF editor just to use existing fields, although availability can vary by application.
3. Enter a short test note
Try an administrative entry such as Week of November 2 and one planning note. Use Tab to move between fields if your reader supports it, or click the next field directly.
These templates have fixed field sizes. A field may accept more text than can be seen at once. Shorten a long entry or use an additional copy of the page; scrolling text on screen may not appear completely on paper.

4. Save, close and reopen
Use the reader's Save or Save As command to preserve your working copy. Close it, reopen the saved file and confirm the test note is still there before spending time completing every page.
If the note is missing, make sure you reopened the saved copy rather than the blank original. Try another form-capable reader if needed. Keep the original download unchanged while troubleshooting.
5. Check one printed page
Select the matching paper size and inspect the print preview. Start with Actual size or 100% when the file and paper match. If your printer clips the edges, use a fit or shrink option and check that the writing remains legible.
For more detail, see A4 versus US Letter printing. Always test a filled page if you intend to print typed entries.
